We’ve made some updates to the design and layout of a note in Fellow. Let’s take a look at what’s changed.

Note header

We’ve adjusted the layout of the note header to fit your meeting information in a much more streamlined way. The header now shows:

  • Meeting date and time: The date and time is always displayed so you know when the meeting is. During the meeting, it becomes a meeting timer so you know how much time you have left in your meeting. Clicking this button will show the full calendar event details.

  • Fellow Copilot recording status: Before the meeting, if the Fellow Copilot has been enabled to record your meeting, an icon will be displayed so all attendees can see this meeting will be recorded. You can click this icon to open the Auto-record settings. During your meeting, this element will switch to be a Recording indicator to let you know that the meeting is currently being recorded. You can click this button to stop the recording.

  • Conference Join button: If your meeting has a video conference link (Google Meet, Zoom, etc.) you can join right from the note header.

  • Avatars of people who have access: Same as before, anyone with access to the note will be displayed here. Click to view the full list of people.

  • Send notes: Send notes has been updated to be just an icon, but works the exact same as before. Click to send a copy of the meeting notes to a variety of destinations.

  • More actions: There are a number of other actions we support on the note, click the triple-dot menu to access all of these actions.

Note toolbar

We’ve moved the toolbar to the top of the note, and is now the primary way to edit notes throughout Fellow – this means Private notes, Templates, and Sections also get this new toolbar.

  • Change block type: The first button in the toolbar will switch the block type (a “block” is what we call each line in the note) where your cursor is to whichever option you choose. This allows you to structure and organize your notes very quickly.

  • Formatting: You can access all the same formatting controls – bold, italic, underline, highlights, indentation, etc. – to style and format your notes.

  • Insert: The insert menu lets you add new blocks to your notes. Insert bullet lists, images, tags, import from one of the many note integrations we support, and more.

  • Comments and reactions: You can quickly leave comments and reactions to any block by using the icons on the far right.

  • Saved indicator: The checkmark indicates that the note has been saved and can be clicked to view the note version history.

Suggested actions

We’ve introduced a new element that we call “Suggested actions” at the bottom of every note. What is suggested will change depending on the meeting cycle (before, during, or after the meeting) to surface relevant actions for your meeting. Here are a list of the actions that will show:

  • Auto-record: Let’s you schedule the meeting to be recorded using the Fellow Meeting Copilot.

  • Start recording: Don’t want to wait for the scheduled bot? Just click to start recording whenever you want.

  • Carry-forward: When a previous note has incomplete talking points or action items, use this action to carry them forward to your new note.

  • End meeting: While your meeting is happening live, you can end the meeting in Fellow, which will stop the timer and request feedback from all participants (if enabled).

  • How was this meeting?: Leave feedback to the organizer and meeting participants on how the meeting was.

Our intention with these changes are to simplify the interface while surfacing information and actions when most relevant for your meeting; all to help you prep, plan and have the best meetings possible!
