Insert a link into a Fellow note

Inserting a link into a Fellow is a great way to ensure that all the relevant resources/information is accessible in one place.

Steps

  1. Highlight the text where you would like to add the link

  2. Select the link icon from the tool bar

  3. Enter the link that you want to add in the bottom box

  4. Click the checkmark (โœ”๏ธŽ)

Ways to display smart links in Fellow

URLs

Depending on the situation, you might just want to include the url as is. To do this, just paste the link into Fellow and select the URL display option (the straight line as shown below)

Inline

This is the default way in which a pasted link will be displayed in a Fellow note. From this view, you will see the logo of the website where is the link is from followed by the title of the page

Editing what it says

There are some scenarios in which the text that shows in the inline box is not ideal. For example, for links that are not publicly accessible, the inline box will display "Login" instead of the name of the page. In these cases, it's easy to change the text

  1. First click on the inline box

  2. Click on the edit button. this is represented by a pencil and paper

  3. In the top box, replace the text that you don't want with the new text

  4. Press the checkmark (โœ”๏ธŽ) to confirm

  5. That's it! The new text will now appear in the note

Embeds

If the link is from one of our supported services, you'll be able to see the contents of that link directly in the note. For example, if you link to YouTube video like shown below, you'll be able to play the video without having to leave the note.

Links from the following tools can be embedded: Figma, Giphy, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Loom, Miro, Spotify, Vidyard, Vimeo, YouTube

Switching between displays

  1. Click on the link as it currently appears. This will bring up a menu that looks like this

  2. Select the display that you would like to change it to. Note: the embed option is only available for the select services highlighted above

Unlinking

Hyperlinked text or URLs

  1. Click on the link

  2. Click on the unlink icon at the end of the menu bar. This will unlink the text from the link so that the link will be removed by the text will stay

Inline or Embedded links

  1. Click on the link

  2. Click on the trash can icon to delete the link

Bookmarks & Tabs
