User Settings may not be the most exciting topic, but they can have a big impact on your Fellow experience. Establishing your relationships will unlock some bonus features, integrations can help simplify your workflow, and customizing your notifications can prevent future headaches.
Set your Relationships
First, add your manager in User Settings.
This means, that when you go to have a 1-on-1 with your manager you'll see some more options including a section for priorities, and suggested topics. Plus, by setting the direct report - manager relationship, you will also be able to ask for feedback about your team. (which is something that you can't do if you don't have a team)
Example 1-on-1s with a reporting relationship and without:
To do this, click on User Settings --> My Profile and select your Manager from the drop down.
Connect Other Apps in the Integration Section
If you are already using some of these tools, we recommend integrating Fellow with them. Why? Integrating with Asana, Jira, and Zapier can help keep all your to-dos in sync across platforms, meaning that you don't need to type the same thing over and over again.
While our integrations with Slack and MS Teams will help with communication around meetings and you'll be able to add to your meeting agendas without ever leaving Slack or MS Teams.
To integrate with Slack, Asana, and Zapier, go to User Settings --> Integrations and click on the app you would like to connect.
Jira is a Workspace Level integration which means that you might need an account admin to set that up for you.
Decide how you would like Fellow to notify you.
You'll have the option of receiving daily digests, being notified about completed action items and 15 minutes before your meeting.
Navigate to User Settings --> Notifications and set your preferences.
Add to your User Profile
Our last tip is to add to and edit your User Profile. Here you can specify your name, Title, Department and Manager, set a profile picture, and adjust your timezone.
This can be done in User Settings --> My Profile
